What is CastorOS?

CastorOS is software a vacation-rental host uses to run their property: guest messaging, digital access codes, an AI assistant that answers common questions, and — for hosts who enable it — direct online booking. If you landed on a page with a "Powered by CastorOS" footer, you're looking at a real host's own chalet or cottage, not a listing marketplace. We don't take bookings on behalf of multiple properties like Airbnb does — each property is run by its own host.

I chatted with "Arthur" and it couldn't answer — what now?

Arthur is the property's AI assistant. It answers from the host's own published information (check-in times, wifi, amenities, house rules) and is designed to hand off to the host — not guess — whenever a question is a safety question, a complaint, an emergency, or anything it isn't confident about. When that happens, your host is notified immediately (not on a delay), and you're welcome to leave your email in the chat so they can follow up directly even if you've moved on.

Is paying through this site safe?

Yes. Payments run through Stripe, the same payment processor used by companies like Shopify and Amazon. CastorOS never sees or stores your card number — Stripe handles that entirely on its own secure, PCI-compliant systems.

Is my personal information safe?

Guest data is anonymized automatically 72 hours after checkout unless you've opted in to hear about future offers from that specific host. We don't sell data, don't use ad-tracking, and are built to Quebec's Law 25 privacy standard from the ground up. Full details: Politique de confidentialité.

Who's actually behind CastorOS?

CastorOS is a small, early-stage company — right now it's a solo founder building this in the open, testing with real hosts and real guests before scaling up. We'd rather tell you that plainly than pretend to be bigger than we are. If something feels off, or you just want to double-check something with a real person, write to us — we reply ourselves, not with a bot.
