The service

CastorOS is an automation tool for chalet owners who rent on platforms like Airbnb or VRBO. We connect your booking calendar to your smart devices (lock, thermostat) and automate communication with your guests.

Data processing roles

You are the data controller. As a host, you decide why and how your guests' personal information is collected: name, email, phone number, stay data. You maintain a direct relationship with your guests and bear the legal responsibility toward them under applicable privacy laws.

CastorOS inc. is the data processor. We process your guests' personal information solely to provide the service you have configured: automating door codes, sending the SMS and emails you set up, syncing your calendar. We have no independent commercial interest in that data.

By using CastorOS, you entrust us with the processing of personal data on behalf of your guests. You are responsible for obtaining the necessary consents from your guests in accordance with the laws applicable in your jurisdiction.

Data isolation and no cross-sharing

Your guests' data belongs exclusively to you. CastorOS inc. formally commits to:

Never using Host A's guest list to promote Host B's property, nor for cross-marketing, list sharing, or any other third-party commercial use.
Maintaining strict technical isolation per property. Every stay, access token, scheduled message, and activity log is linked to a single property in our database. No query can cross property boundaries without an explicit action by the host concerned.
The only permitted exception is as follows: if the same guest has stayed with Host A and Host B and provided their contact details to each host independently, each host only sees their own data. CastorOS inc. does not cross-reference this information between hosts.

In the event of a breach of this commitment, CastorOS inc. will notify you within 72 hours of discovering the incident, in accordance with applicable disclosure obligations.

Your account

You are responsible for the security of your account. Use a strong password and do not share your credentials. If you suspect unauthorized use, contact us immediately at bonjour@castoros.app.

Acceptable use

CastorOS is designed for owners managing their own chalet or a small number of personal properties. Use for large-scale commercial purposes (real estate portfolio management, third-party concierge services) is not covered by this plan.

Free trial and billing

Your 4-week free trial starts on the date of registration. No credit card is required during the trial. At the end of the trial, if you wish to continue, you will be prompted to enter your payment information. The plan is 35 CAD per month, billed monthly. You may cancel at any time, with no penalty or questions asked.

Service availability

We aim for 99% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Automations depend on third-party services (Airbnb, Seam, Sinopé) whose availability we do not control. In the event of an outage, we do our best to restore service quickly and keep you informed.

Limitation of liability

CastorOS automates tasks you would otherwise perform manually. In the event of a malfunction (door code not generated, SMS not sent, thermostat not activated), our liability is limited to a refund of the current month's subscription. We are not liable for indirect damages resulting from a service outage.

Termination

You may close your account at any time from your dashboard settings. Your data is deleted within 30 days of account closure, unless otherwise required by law.

Changes

These terms may change. We will notify you by email of any significant change at least 14 days before it takes effect.
